Grym Tidings

So, you're telling me that Privateer Press is releasing a faction for hordes that has a) Horror aesthetics b) Bad Puns, and c) is self contained?  SIGN ME UP!  This blog is going to track my descent into madness as I progressively paint my Grymkin up (as soon as they come out).

About Me

I'm a Pittsburgher who loves to wargame!  I started playing 40k in college when I had a roommate who painted wardollies and I've never looked back.  I've dabbled with plenty of companies including but not limited to Privateer Press, Malifaux, Games Workshop, and Steamforged.  I play all over Pittsburgh (a city blessed with gaming space) at Phantom of the Attic: Games in Oakland, Drawbridge Games in Castle Shannon, Mr. Nice Guy's in Monroeville, and Legions in the North Hills.  I've had an absolute blast this Summer with all the exciting news in the hobby, and can't wait to head to GenCon!

Grymkin

This first post is to get me started and keep me on track for future painting!  I'll list out what I have arriving in the mail (while I'm on vacation out of town booooo) and as it gets painted I'll keep you, the loyal reader, updated!

Owned :

  • Warcasters
    • The Heretic
  • Warbeasts
    • Heavy
      • Skin & Moans
      • Cage Rager
    • Light
      • Gorehound
  • Battle Engines
  • Units
    • Hollowmen and Lantern Man
    • Piggybacks
    • Dreadrots
  • Solos
    • Gremlin Swarm x 2
    • Lord Longfellow
    • Lady Karyanna Rose
    • Wytchwood
    • Glimmer Imp
My plan with these models is to try a spooky woods basing scheme (original, I know) with scattered books to make it a "Storybook Forest".  Can you tell I like puns AND live near Idlewild?  I'm pretty excited to get started, and that was the impetus for getting this blog post up.  In the future you can expect mini battle reports, hobby updates, tactical discussions and guest posts.

Until Next Time!

If you have any questions or comments feel free to leave one below and I'll endeavor to respond asap!   If you're heading to GenCon this year you can see me at the Iello booth.  You can also reach out to me on Twitter at @KFinchster.  Thanks for the read, and I'm looking forward to getting some real content up for y'inz!
